Before hiring any vendor or service provider on Godesi, run through these eight checks. They take a few minutes and save a lot of trouble.

- β’ Use WhatsApp or phone to discuss details
- β’ Ask clear questions about services and pricing
3Ask for samples
- β’ Request past work, references or a portfolio
4Confirm pricing
- β’ Get written confirmation of price, deliverables and timeline
5Use a written agreement
- β’ Always have a clear agreement or contract
- β’ Avoid verbal-only commitments
6Avoid full advance payment
- β’ Pay in milestones where possible

- β’ Look at ratings and feedback from other users

Safe buying & selling tips

- β’ Check their profile, reviews and how long they have been active
- β’ Ask for a photo of the item with today's date

- β’ Pay on collection where possible, and keep a receipt
- β’ Never send a deposit, gift card or crypto to hold an item
π Meet in public
- β’ Meet in a busy, well-lit place and take someone with you
- β’ For big items, arrange daytime pickup and tell a friend

- β’ Switch it on, check for damage and confirm accessories
- β’ For phones and laptops, check the item is not locked or reported lost

- β’ Vehicles: title, registration and service history
- β’ Property: ownership papers and ID before any payment

- β’ Price far below market, pressure to decide immediately
- β’ Refusal to meet, talk by phone or show the item
- β’ Requests to move payment off-platform or to a third party

Our role
Godesi is a listing platform and is not a party to any transaction between users. We do not verify listings or guarantee any service. We do review complaints and may warn, suspend or remove accounts that break our rules.
Meeting people
For Connect meet-ups: meet in public places, tell a friend where you are going, and never send money to anyone you have not met. Godesi Connect is a community and networking space β it is not a dating service.
For housing: never pay a deposit for a property you have not seen, and read the fair housing notice on every property and room listing.
