Illinois farmhouse becomes final training ground for 100 firefighters

A four-generation family farmhouse in Illinois was given a meaningful final purpose before being demolished. The Kestel family donated the vacant house to the New Lenox Fire Protection District, where nearly 100 firefighters trained in realistic live-fire rescue and firefighting exercises over three days. Although watching the home burn was emotional, the family said knowing it helped firefighters gain life-saving experience made its final farewell a fitting tribute to their family's legacy of community service.
